Getting Started with the PixelCade Marquee

The PixelCade compatible LED Marquee is sold by Custom Arcade, and they provided me with this product for the purpose of making an installation and review video. The accessory kit that comes with the purchase includes everything you need to install the PixelCade Marquee on your Legends Ultimate Mini. This kit allows you to have all the wires and components on the internal side of the cabinet for a clean installation.

Installation Steps

  1. Step 1: Remove the back panel of your AtGames Legends Ultimate Mini.
  2. Step 2: Disconnect the original stock Marquee light from the PCB by unplugging the two-prong adapter cable.
  3. Step 3: Connect the two-pin ribbon cable from the PixelCade Marquee to the Legends Bit Pixel Accessory board.
  4. Step 4: Take the USB cable from the AtGames PCB board and plug it into the USB 1 port on the new mini board.
  5. Step 5: Connect the USB-C side of the included USB-C to USB-A mini cable to the board, and the USB-A side to the PCB on the AtGames.
  6. Step 6: Power the new board by plugging the power cable into the first power port on the bottom of the LBPA board.
  7. Step 7: Use the smaller three-foot power cable to connect the adjacent power port on the LBPA board and the port on the PCB.
  8. Step 8: Double-check your connections and mount the LBPA board inside the cabinet using the sticky tape on the bottom of the feet.
  9. Step 9: Remove the original Marquee on the AtGames Legends Ultimate Mini by unscrewing the six small screws.
  10. Step 10: Use the provided mini allen wrench to remove the four tiny hex screws holding the Marquee cover in place.
  11. Step 11: Plug in the grey ribbon cable into the open port on the PCB and leave it connected to the PixelCade Marquee.
  12. Step 12: Connect the USB cable from the PixelCade PCB to the USB 2 port on the LBPA board.
  13. Step 13: Peel the sticky backs off the LBPA board and mount it on the wall of the arcade cabinet.
  14. Step 14: Power on the arcade and ensure that everything is connected properly and the Marquee turns on.
  15. Step 15: Install the Marquee cover carefully to avoid leaving fingerprints on it.
  16. Step 16: Install the Legends Bit Pixel X software from the App Store X and configure it to auto-launch on every reboot.
