This CHEAP Mini PC Plays ALL The SYSTEMS Switch, Xbox, and More!

by Arcade Man

Today, we’re diving into the world of affordable mini PCs and emulation. Ace Magician sent us their new Mini PC to check out, and it’s certainly caught our attention. Priced at $329 on Amazon (potentially less during sales), this budget-friendly device promises a lot of potential. Let’s see what it can do, what games it can handle, and whether it’s worth your consideration.

Introducing the Ace Magician Mini PC

The Ace Magician Mini PC, also known as the am-06 pro, comes in black and packs some impressive hardware. It features an 8-core 16-thread Ryzen 7 5800u processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. With Windows 11 Pro onboard, it can even handle 4K displays on triple screens. This device resembles other mini PCs we’ve reviewed, such as the b-link one, and if it delivers similar performance at its affordable price point, it could be a fantastic bang for your buck.

Exploring Emulation and PC Gaming

Let’s dive into the fun part and see how this Mini PC handles various emulators and PC games.

GameCube Emulation

We started with GameCube emulation and tried out “Simpsons Road Rage.” The Mini PC handled the game smoothly at four times upscaling, delivering an enjoyable experience. “Death Jam: Fight for New York” also ran without any issues.

Nintendo 3DS Emulation

Moving on to Nintendo 3DS emulation, we tried “Tekken 3DS,” and once again, the Mini PC performed well. NES, Genesis, Super Nintendo, and PlayStation games worked flawlessly, as expected from most modern emulation devices.

Xbox 360 Emulation

The real test came with Xbox 360 emulation. We tried “Overlord,” a criminally underrated game, and were impressed with how smoothly it ran. “Battle Fantasia,” a lesser-known fighting game, also played well. While some Xbox 360 games might give the system a slight hiccup, overall, the Mini PC handled these titles nicely.

PlayStation 3 Emulation

PlayStation 3 emulation proved to be quite good on this Mini PC. Games like “Prince of Persia Classic” and “Madden Arcade” ran smoothly, showcasing its capabilities for the last-gen console.

Nintendo Switch Emulation

While the Mini PC couldn’t handle Nintendo Switch AAA titles like “Luigi’s Mansion 3” at full speed, it showed potential for handling less demanding indie games and other lower-end titles. However, for more intense games, it might require some tinkering with settings to achieve playable framerates.

The Surprising Elden Ring

Perhaps the most unexpected feat was running “Elden Ring” on this budget Mini PC. This 2022 game performed impressively well, even with decent visual fidelity. While it may not provide top-of-the-line graphics, the fact that it ran at all on a $300 device is remarkable.

The Ace Magician Mini PC proves to be a powerful and affordable option for retro gaming and some modern gaming. With solid emulation capabilities for systems like GameCube, Nintendo 3DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, it offers a great experience for classic gaming enthusiasts. While Nintendo Switch emulation and higher-end PC gaming may require some adjustments, it’s still an exciting option for those on a budget.

If you’re looking for a cost-effective solution to play retro games and some modern titles with decent performance, the Ace Magician Mini PC might be the magic device you need.
